My Saturday Morning Routine

I love Saturday mornings more than anything.
I used to be the kind of person who would sleep in until noon and then roll out of bed. But now I love waking up around 8 and getting out of bed and heading downstairs. My mom is usually up also and already has the music playing and her crossword out. I grab what ever book I am currently sucked into and join her.
But this isn't my favorite thing about saturdays.
My favorite thing is going the farmers market. It has become a tradition that I love. There is an adorable one in town, (though not as large as any in Portland) it is cute in it's own way. The have a delicious pizza stand with the BEST veggie pizza.
I love going there and picking up veggies and fruits from the stands and picking up and meat I might need. Not only are you getting fresh, organic food. You are also buying local. By purchasing your vegetables from a local farmer you are helping someone directly in your community. I love that feeling!

So do you like going to the farmers market?
What is your saturday routine?

Wedding Whimsy

So as I told you all a few posts back, I’m Engaged!
I am so excited to begin the planning process for the wedding! We are planning for a wedding next summer in late August. I will let you know when we pick an official date!
So far, though, the aspect that I am the most excited to plan is our wedding colors! Now, you may be thinking, seriously out of everything to plan, that is what she is thinking about?
I know, it may seem a bit random but I think that the colors you choose can really showcase your personality as a couple.

So here are some color schemes that have been bumping around in my head.

So far I am leaning towards Mint and  Silver.
Let me know your thoughts and any color suggestions you have!
Happy Weekend!

Dreaming of Dream Catchers

I love dream catchers. I love the idea of them, I love the history behind them and I love how beautiful they are. I am, in a word, obsessed with them. I gathered up some photos of dream catchers that I found especially mesmerizing, they also come in lots of forms, tattoos, paintings, jewelry and the usual art decor form.
Enjoy!

Do you have dream catchers in your room? Or another form of a dream catcher?
Let me know if you share my obsession :)

My Own Space

I am so excited to be moving into my own apartment next month. This will be my first apartment and I find myself constantly thinking about decorations. I love the idea of creating a space that is all my own and really making my own identity. Here are some photos that  I plan on using to inspire me while decorating.

Big News!

IM ENGAGED!!! :) Okay, so it happened a couple months ago but I figured I would share it with you all! I am so beyond happy to begin planning my wedding with my best friend and the love of my life! I am thinking it might be fun to do some wedding planning posts to keep you all in the loop. :) Also I think I will do a couple of blog posts on how we met, and how we got engaged! But for now I will leave you with this photo!

Beauty Review:

Over this past weekend I made another trip up to Portland to visit my super cute Fiancee. Of course while I was there I made a quick run to the mall and stopped by Sephora. I only got a couple things, so here is a quick review of the purchases I made.

1. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer
I have been dying to try this product for a few months now but I just haven't gotten around to picking one up yet. So when I walked into Sephora this time I know I wanted to purchase it. This product is awesome for those days where you still want coverage but don't want to put on a full face of fondation. I am loving it for summer time. It goes on very smooth and feels super moisturizing on your skin. Even though it just a tinted moisturizer is does give pretty good coverage. I have been wear this with some some powder over the top and it gives me a pretty flawless finish. I would definitely recommend this product and will be re-purchasing this in the future!

Wanna try it for yourself? You can purchase this product HERE

2. Sephora Anti-Shine Primer

Good news, this stuff works great! Bad news I have heard that they are discontinuing this product! However, because of that this primer is currently on sale for 5 dollars!! Can you believe it? So far I am loving this primer. It is my first time trying this brand, I normally use one by Lancome and I have to say I love this one so much more! It doesn't seem to oily and dries very quickly. It also allows my make-up to last for probably about 7 hours or so. Much better than any other product I have tried. I recommend this to anyone and I may even go back to Sephora and stock up before this is gone for good!

Stock up for yourself, HERE.

Have you tried any of these products? Or do you plan on trying any out?
Let me know what you think!

Highlighter Lovin'

For the summer I have been really into highlighting my cheek-bones. I think it is the perfect complement to tan skin and natural make-up. Here are some inspirational photos and some of my favorite highlighting products.

Foodie Review

This past weekend I went to Departure restaurant and bar in Portland, Oregon. The restaurant is located on the top floor of The Nines Hotel. It is a gorgeous restaurant, the view is to die for. We went on a clear day and could see all of the city and way off into the distanse. Just thinking about that view makes me miss it. We went at around 4 for happy hour and the outside patio was pretty packed. The food was great, not huge portions but the prices were fair. We both got mojitos and in the end our bill came to around 40 dollars. Not bad for an upscale place and drinks. Going along with that, Departure is upscale and the attire people wear reflects that. Although there is no "official dress code" it is safe to say that you should dress up for the occasion. Enjoy your night out! The atmosphere was catered to everyone, we saw couples, groups friends and business people their. It is a great place for anyone. I would highly recommend Departure and can not wait for my next visit back! Here is a tip make sure you make a reservation online by clicking HERE. Online they also have their full menu! Check it out and let me know if you try it and what you think of it!

Here are some photos of the place!

Subscription Services

The newest trend is subscription services for beauty products. I am seeing them everywhere! Have you tried any? Them seem like a great deal for a girl like me who loves anything beauty and fashion related.

Here are a few of the ones that I am considering trying...

1. Birch Box
At only 10 dollars a month it is pretty tempting.
Check them out HERE

2. Shoe Mint
Rachel Bilson is behind this one and I have loved her since The OC. She is so stylish, so you know the shoes you get would be as well.
Check them out HERE

3. Jewel Mint
Same idea as shoe mint except with Jewelry and Kate Bosworth is behind this one.
Check them out HERE

4. Beauty Army
Sort of the same idea as birch box, you get a selection of samples, this one is 12 dollars a month but promises premium brands.
Check them out HERE

5. Little Black Bag
This is the one I am most excited about, for 50 dollars you get three products. Some retailing at 100 dollars! You also have to opportunity to trade your items with other people. I am dying to try this site!
Check them out HERE

Let me know if you try out any of these or use them already! Also let me know of any others that you love!

Photo Fridays:

I love photography, I spent a lot of my time in high school using a Nikon D5000 and taking photos for the yearbook as well as various photo classes that I was in. Sadly after graduating I kept my love for it but lost the ability to check out the camera from the school. However on sunny days I find myself looking out the window day dreaming of all the beautiful images that have yet to be captured. The idea of photography is so dreamy. Going out and capturing the beauty in the world, what could be more wonderful than that? Here our some lovely images that I have stumbled upon in the last week or so. My plan is to update this once a week with new images for you all to look at to keep you inspired to find beauty in the world.

Ps. I found all of these on Pintrest. Click HERE to follow me :)

The most Magical Weekend

This weekend I got to go and see my fiance in Portland. We had the most wonderful time together, the only downside was that it was such a short trip. I got in late the first night so we just stayed in, watched the office, and ate some pizza. Pretty romantic right? The next night however we got all dolled up and went to The Nines rooftop top bar, Departure. It was spectacular. The views on the outdoor patio of the 15 stories is to die for! We had some wonderful food and an all around great time. It was the perfect weekend to spend with my love! :)

Heres a photo of us at Departure, we clean up pretty well if I say so myself.

Ps. I will do a full review of Departure, as well as Urban farmer soon.
